Teletherapy is the delivery of therapy services at a distance over video conferencing software similar to FaceTime or Skype but using special privacy protected software such as Zoom.

Teletherapy has been used in the medical setting for quite some time as a method for doctors to communicate with other doctors and their patients. Now, it is becoming more and more recognised by a number of national accrediting bodies for Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.

Teletherapy is a new concept for some and can be quite intimidating, maybe something outside of the comfort zone however, it can be beneficial for many. For children who have a hard time getting into therapy - if the child is medically fragile or ill; embarrassed to attend therapy because they are a little bit older and don’t want their friends to know. It also allows your therapist to observe your child in your home environment and give ideas of accommodations, activities and exercises appropriate to that environment, it allows you to work together as a family - to get partners, siblings, parents or helpers involved in the programme and most importantly, it helps ensure your child is maintaining progress wherever you are located.

At The Energy Source, we provide Teletherapy for all of our services areas as well as TelePT (personal training) for your child/family led by our Physiotherapists.
