School Readiness
School readiness refers to whether a child is ready to make an easy and successful transition into school.
Sensory Stimulation
Sensory stimulation is the activation of one or more of the senses, including taste, smell, vision, hearing, and touch. It can range from something as simple as a hand massage with scented lotion or listening to a playlist of favourite music to more complicated activities designed to provide a sensory experience.
Increased Emotional Awareness
Emotional awareness means knowing when feelings are present in ourselves and others. Increased emotional awareness also relates to the development of emotional skills, such as healthy coping skills, as well as an improved sense of self-confidence and self-esteem.
Motor Development
Motor development refers to the development of a child’s bones, muscles and ability to move around and manipulate his or her environment. Motor development divides into two sections: gross motor development and fine motor development.
Social Skills
A social skill is any competence facilitating interaction and communication with others where social rules and relations are created, communicated, and changed in verbal and nonverbal ways. The process of learning these skills is called socialization.
Speech Production
Speech production is the process by which thoughts translates into speech. It includes the selection of words, the organisation of relevant grammatical forms, and then the articulation of the resulting sounds by the motor system using the vocal apparatus.
