Play Therapy
Play Therapy is a form of non-directive therapy that allows the child to lead therapy sessions. Play is a child’s natural medium of expression and it is essential for development. Through play, children can relax, use their imagination, and be in control. Play therapy helps children process their emotions, release tension, and improve self esteem.

What is Play Therapy?
The Play Therapy tool kit consists of a combination of different mediums, such as sandplay, music, movement, role play, and art which provides children with an avenue to process and express their emotions in a safe space. The therapist creates a safe, permissive and confidential setting which allows children the freedom to express themselves with few limitations.

Play Therapy is beneficial for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties such as:
- Anxiety
- Anger
- Low self esteem
- Bereavement
- Low motivation
The Energy Source’s practitioners are registered with Play Therapy International (PTI), Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy (APAC) and Play Therapy United Kingdom.
