Physiotherapy
WHAT IS
PHYSIOTHERAPY?
Paediatric Physiotherapy is the treatment and care of babies, children and young people from birth to 21 years. Paediatric Physiotherapists promote the health and well-being of children and have additional knowledge and experience of child development and childhood disabilities.
WHAT SERVICES DO WE PROVIDE
At The Energy Source, our Physiotherapists provide assessment and therapy services for:
Global Developmental Delay
Global developmental delay is when a child takes longer to reach certain development milestones than other children their age. It might include learning to walk or talk, movement skills, learning new things and interacting with others socially and emotionally.

Neonatal/Premature Babies
Physiotherapy for a premature baby may include muscle strengthening exercises, stretches to maintain range of movement and activities in supine, side-lying, rolling and sitting.

Cerebral Palsy
CP is the most common motor disability in childhood. Cerebral means having to do with the brain. Palsy means weakness or problems with using the muscles. CP is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain that affects a person's ability to control his or her muscles.
Developmental Coordination Disorder
DCD occurs when a delay in the development of motor skills, or difficulty coordinating movements, results in a child being unable to perform common, everyday tasks.

Balance, Walking & Mobility
Physiotherapy can help establish the causes of any problems identified with balance, walking and mobility.
